Jesus Is In My Boat

God is great! And is worthy to be praised!  He is God all by Himself. He is for us, He is in us and He is with us. Praise and thanksgiving are essential to our lives in God as oxygen is to our breath. Our Lord wants us to praise Him all the time. He is always fighting for us. He sent Jesus to save us and to cause us to live victoriously in His name. For all of this, we must be confident of this; He is with us in every fiery trial and in stormy weather.

Mark 4:39 (NKJV)

"Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm."

At this time of the year, we are already in the 8th month of the year about to enter the last quarter of the year 2021, many are wondering at the intensity of trials, hardship and wars. Many have become victims of worry and anxiety as they wonder at the ‘absence’ or almost nonchalant attitude of God. They wonder at the sudden death of a spouse, child, parent, if God is really for them or even where He is in all of this. They know they have God but where is He?

In the Chapter above, the Disciples and Christ were on a Boat on the Sea. Jesus was in the stern sleeping, whilst the disciples were above. Then came a great storm, the winds were harsh and the Boat was threatened. The Disciples were very afraid and sought Jesus where He was asleep. They were astonished; did He not care that they would all be dead if the boat capsized? They woke Him up; interestingly He rebuked His disciples first, telling them they had no faith before stilling the Storm.

Today I write to tell you that Jesus is in your Boat, if you have ever wondered at where God is in all of your life storms, He is right there with you! He knows the wind or the rain won’t capsize your boat, he created them both. The Storm knows He’s there too. It cannot destroy you!!!

Let me share this poem I wrote about this:

HE’S IN MY BOAT

Though the storm rides high and hard, though the boat sways and seems unsteady, though fear and anxiety rock my heart and I wonder if my boat will turn over, though I struggle hard to keep the boat steady, this one thing I suddenly remember, He’s asleep down there, the creator of the wind and the storm. He’s asleep in my boat. At his word, the storm stands still. I am encouraged. Jesus is in my Boat. All is WELL.
