Greetings Beloved,
Hope you are staying strong and guarding your gates with all wisdom. We must protect our lives by protecting our hearts. As we conclude on the series of Guarding our hearts, let us, with all diligence, be careful of what we look at, listen to and speak about.
In concluding our series, we look at the mouth gates. We speak from our thoughts. Our thoughts are formed from what we hear and what we see. Also, our thoughts can be formed from what we tell ourselves. King David knew as a King, his words were law and carried power.
He prayed;
“Set a guard, O Lord over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips”. Psalm 141:3 (NKJV)
James, one of the twelve disciples of Christ, in his book laid great emphasis on the tongue and its destructive capabilities;

6 And the tongue is a fire! It can be compared to the sum total of wickedness and is the most dangerous part of our human body. It corrupts the entire body and is a hellish flame! It releases a fire that can burn throughout the course of human existence.
You can self-sabotage your life or another’s by saying the wrong words. Words are so powerful that God said every idle word would be judged;
Matthew 12:36 The Passion Translation (TPT)
36 You can be sure of this: when the day of judgment comes, everyone will be held accountable for every careless word he has spoken.
Words remain a very powerful tool for change; destructive or creative.
What words are you speaking in these times? Words of hope or words of fear? What are you saying to yourself given the very grave circumstances we find the world in?
We must be deliberate about our words to ourselves, to others or to situations. Let’s not only ask God to set a guard over our mouths but to also season our words with salt.
